Let Your Makeup Turn You into a Show-Stopper

In another truly stunning layout from the awe-inspiring Vogue-Paris September Issue “Trio of Beauty” takes one flawless face and 3 makeup genius’, for a gorgeous peak at The Colors of Fall.  In front of the master himself, Isabeli Fontana allowed herself to be transformed and captured by the prolific/dynamic Patrick Demarchelier (via fashiongonerogue).

Tom Pecheux for Estee lauder (below-left) shows us the perfect “Modern Cat-Eye.”  It seems that the “Cat-Eye” has been stuck in a rut, and always has trouble finding solid ground off the Runway.  Usually done with liquid-liner, the application often proves too difficult, and the look too elusive to master.  What I’ve been loving about Fall 2011’s version, is that it’s done with a soft pencil, making the end result a smokey extension of the lash, as opposed to a solid-line.  Then following Pecheux steps, keep the face natural (light powder with a peach/beige blush on the sides of cheeks).  Finish the look with your version of a nude lip (If I tried to wear this color on my lips, I would look dead – I have to do a baby peach/pink).  This is a fab look for day/night.  Start soft in the morning, then darken things up for nighttime.

Next we have Lloyd Simmonds (below-right) for YSL.  Looking every bit the updated YSL 70’s Chic, this look is a perfected upgrade.  What Simmonds does here is brilliant, he manages to take color-combos that are usually mortal-enemies, and brings them together for a smoldering outcome.  He’s released us from out addiction to Black, and offered up deep-purple as an alternative eye-liner, then gone up the eye with varying shades of purple/violet for a dramatic and eye-popping result.  Then the piece de resistence, a Red Lip with a Pink/Violet hint of gloss tapped on the center of the mouth, pulling it all together.  Forget the blush/bronzer for this look – it’s all about the flawless finish.  But this is definitely a Show-Stopper.

And finally we have Aaron de Mey for Lancome (bottom), turning in the last and most dramatic presentation.  Giving us 2 Glossy-Eyed examples of Fall’s shiny-shadows,  we see how powerful primary colors can be.  The simplicity of Blue, Green, and Red somehow feel exciting and rebellious.  This shadow application can be a nice distraction from your beauty-routine, but don’t apply with a heavy-hand.  All three looks are an exciting window into next Season, and all the colorful-fun that awaits us.
